Alyssa Ktistakis, as Lindsey in How to to Stay Married – Channel 10

Alyssa started with Action Drama Studio back in 2013.

We’ve seen her in countless showcases and productions, and now to see her TV debut… it’s remarkable. It has been such a pleasure to watch her grow up and become the amazing young woman she is today. So… I guess you could say we are #proudparents and that is why we are announcing her television debut and SHOUTING IT FROM ROOF TOPS!

We are excited for Alyssa, who landed the role of Lindsay in How To Stay Married. Alyssa is playing Lindsay, a friend of Em (played by Lisa McCune) and Greg (played by Peter Helliar) Butler’s daughter, Sophie (played by Willow Ryan-Fuller) in a two-episode arc! If you would like to see Alyssa, make sure that you tune into Channel 10 tonight, at 8.30pm, where she will be featured in Episode 1 and again in Episode 5 (airing on June 2nd). You can also catch up with the whole series online at 10Play.

Alyssa had to keep the time she spent on set filming for ‘How To Stay Married’ under wraps, since October 2019. We are so pleased to finally be able to share this success with you now and celebrate her wonderful work – well done Alyssa, your ADS & AAA Family are so proud and can’t wait to see what you do next.

Now – everyone! Go and watch How to Stay Married… every week, on repeat. FOREVER! Remember, Alyssa’s in episode 1 and 5 – keep an eye out.

An Update on COVID-19

To our ADS Community

Well….what a time!

Our thoughts are with our ADS families as we face COVID-19. This is a challenging time in history together and never before experienced in our own lifetimes.

We sincerely hope that the impact has not been too difficult for you or your family and friends. We hope that everyone is staying safe and feeling hopeful for the future, as we are here at ADS.

As you are all aware, The Premier, Dan Andrews made the decision to close schools in the last week of term and as a result, we have followed suit.  Please note, that the instruction to stop non-essential activities does not apply to ADS at this point. As stated by the government, educational institutions are exempt from this rule. This means that when school goes back, we will too. At this stage, the Federal and State government have stated their intention is for schools to resume at the start of Term 2.

COVID-19 Update: Student lends helping hand

Shoutout to Greensborough Acting student Evie for making sure our new health & safety procedures were being followed

Assuming schools return in Term 2:

  • ADS Classes will operate as usual.
  • We may be slightly adjusting our timetable to incorporate extended and extra classes over Terms 2-4. This is to compensate for classes lost in Term 1, Week 8.
  • Students who have missed classes in the last couple of weeks can attend make up classes. Students can arrange to take these classes at other studios or attend a special weekend workshop.
  • We will continue to accommodate social distancing into the design of our weekly class curriculum.
  • Our teachers will continue to ensure the utmost of hygienic practices in class.
  • We are ensuring that all our venues adhere to the 4m per person rule. Currently we are meeting these requirements, however, we will need to put a stop on any further enrolments in some studios.

However, In the event that schools do not return on the date planned, we will move to online classes. Our staff are currently busy designing fun and interactive online lessons. This is to ensure our students are not missing out on their much loved drama classes.

To our ADS family, we say thank you.

ADS is determined to stay viable at all costs, see this through and offer our services well into the future. We have a loyal community of families and we are already so grateful for the outpouring of support we have received so far.

Here at ADS, we believe it is our personalised and student centred approach that makes our classes so unique. However, undoubtably, it is our community that makes ADS so strong. If you are/or know of anyone looking for something fun to do in this strange time, we are very welcome of new enrolments in Term 2! Action Drama Studio is a place for everyone.

Should you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email or call ADS HQ on (03) 9090-7715 to speak to a member of Management.

Drama Camp is back in 2020!

Have you heard?

Drama Camp is back and better than ever!

Drama Camp is back in 2020. Senior Youth students, get hyped! The dates are locked in.

This winter holidays – June 30th til July 3rd, we are running away for four days to celebrate all things drama, friendship & ADS. Over the four day camp our students work intensively with our most advanced teachers to imagine, create and explore in a safe and nurturing learning environment. Once the hard work is done, students enjoy a range of social activities which see friendships form which can last a lifetime! From newspaper costumes to paint wars, all the way to a full a mockumentary web series being made. Drama Camp is like nothing else and 2020 will be no different.

If you want to check out what our last camps were like, have a look at our 2017, 2018 and 2019 camp memories here!

Drama Camp 2020

It’s COMING… Drama Camp is back in 2020

This year, we’re headed into the the hills to the beautiful Yarra Valley to perform our post-modern devised theatre pieces  amongst the ferns. We are headed to Healesville! Ferngully Lodge is only a one hour drive from ADS HQ in Rosanna.

Drama Camp 2020, Fern Gully Lodge

Ferngully Lodge, Healesville

This year from June 30th – July 3rd, Ferngully Lodge will host 35 keen and energetic drama students (aged 14-18) and their coffee fuelled teachers… and we are keen!

The campsite was originally a Guest House built in the late 1930’s.  Since 1984 and more recently, many renovations have taken place adapting the buildings to suit a multipurpose campsite.

This stunning site comes highly recommended to Action Drama Studio and we are super excited to stay there, this year.

Expressions of interest will open in in late March. But until then, put those dates in your diaries and make sure you’re free.

Our Senior Youth Drama Camp is an event you don’t want to miss!

Bring a Friend to Drama!

Bring a Friend Day at Action Drama Studio

For the next 3 weeks at Action Drama Studio, IT’S BRING A FRIEND WEEK!

Do you know someone who you think would enjoy our Performing Arts classes? Maybe it’s your school friend or your neighbour…  It could even be your cousins, friends, Auntie’s dog walker. We welcome all!

Bring A Friend Flyer

Bring along a Friend to class in Term 1, 2020

Any ADS student should feel free to bring along a buddy of a similar age to a class in Term 1. Ask someone who’s looking to build confidence and make new friends!

Why should you bring friend?

Action Drama Studio’s BAF day is way for our students to share a program that they love, with the people they love.

It’s a wonderful opportunity introduce friends and family to something they might have never heard of before. They’ll get to join in on all the fun games, silly warm ups and take part in the main drama lesson for the day.

How to bring someone along

All students have been given BAF flyers in class. Get your friend’s parent/guardian to fill out the flyer and then bring that flyer and your friend to class. It’s that easy!

However, If you don’t have a flyer – contact ADS HQ, and we’ll email one out to you. Alternatively, our teachers have copies at every studio. These flyers can be filled out 5 minutes before class.

What to do next.

It’s simple! Bring your friend along to class and share the fun!

Additionally, share this post & help spread the word about what we have to offer here at Action Drama Studio!

For 2020 Class Timetable, visit: https://www.actiondramastudio.com.au/locations/

PLEASE NOTE: BAF Day is only available for classes which are not yet at capacity. To see whether your child’s class is taking BAF trials, contact ADS HQ.
